I felt right at home here, thanks in part to the warm, sincere staff who were always ready to help or offer recommendations. The rooms are comfortable, the bed especially so, and the whole place feels peaceful and relaxing. In Avlabari, the hotel has the character of Old Tbilisi while still being close to everything. It’s clean, cozy, and beautifully designed. A lovely discovery during my time in Tbilisi, and I’ll definitely return.

We had to leave at 8am for a flight, but when I messaged at 7:53 to ask about checking out, they replied only after 8. With no one there and no way to hand back the key, we went from the garage up to the 10th floor, left the garage remote at the desk, tapped the key card to get back down, then quickly left the key somewhere. It was a frustrating end to the stay. Getting in had also been inconvenient. They first answered quickly by phone or WhatsApp, but on arrival we waited around 5 to 10 minutes for someone to open the parking garage. The room was accessed by tapping a key card to the 10th floor, and you couldn’t come back down without it. The toilet bowl and coffee cup still had marks. They provided tea but not even a coffee sachet, unlike other three-star hotels we stayed in in Georgia. There was cutlery and an adaptor. The shower’s hot water took a few minutes to come through. To me, this isn’t really a hotel. We wouldn’t return because even basic check-in and checkout service was too inconvenient.

The owners, the mother and the owner, were a big help, carrying our bag upstairs and later helping get our luggage into the lift. They also let us leave our bags in reception after checkout. The location worked well, close to universities, the metro, and restaurants. Our room was lovely, with a big comfortable bed, a huge balcony, and clean, neat bathroom. Just be aware the shower area is open, so water can spray into the toilet. Toiletries were supplied apart from toothbrushes. There were plates and forks, a fairly large mini fridge, a big working TV, and extra blankets in case it got cold. The room felt secure with its lock and key system. Easily one of the best places I’ve stayed.

The room was clean and well equipped, with a nice view. We chose one with a bathtub. The warm water took a while, but it did come through. When I visited, there was no sign on the building showing the hotel was inside, so I’d suggest the owners put up a placard.

A supermarket is only a three-minute walk away, and getting around Tbilisi cost us just 4 lari for an Uber ride 😊 The staff and owner were really kind and went beyond what we expected to make our stay good. Our room was spacious, amazing, and extremely clean, and the balconies had a lovely view over the city. We’d definitely come back 😊
