The area around the building is pleasant, with a large, beautiful park behind it and shops for food and everyday needs along the street. It can feel like a close-knit neighborhood, though, so strangers may stand out. The balcony has a great view and a fridge, and the breeze is lovely. I stayed in room No. 5, which is beside the owner's room. He lives there with his mother, and the two rooms connect through the balcony. The building is old, as if it had come straight from the Soviet era, but the inside is quite nice apart from the bath and toilet. Water drains slowly from the shower, so there’s a bucket for scooping it out, and the toilet has stains. I got the impression the owner either doesn’t like cleaning or doesn’t know how to do it. There are two elevators, a large one and a small one, but you need a prepaid card to use them, not coins. The building number is III, and there were three dogs around in June 2025. This is basically someone’s home, not really a hostel, and you need to ask the owner to let you in. Check-in meant WhatsApping him to say I was arriving and being as nice as possible. The owner can act arrogant and superior because he’s been named a “super host” in a small community. If he were more humble, guests could enjoy the view and breeze more freely and comfortably. I especially suggest this for guys who are okay with that kind of person, rather than women who aren’t comfortable with narrow personal space.

We went to the exact address shown on the map, but there was no place called “Hostel Kiki” there. We asked people nearby and owners of other hostels, and still couldn’t find it. Make sure the place actually exists before you book. Good luck.

My family had a lovely vacation here. The home was clean and quiet, and the place is close to everything. He, the owner, and his mom were perfect. It’s a great place.

It was okay, nothing bad.

They turned me away because I didn’t have a bank card and hadn’t paid online in advance. The way they treated me was terrible. So much for that famous Georgian hospitality, apparently it’s sleep on a park bench if you don’t have a bank card. I ended up at another guest house, where the conditions were better and the price was lower. I recommend avoiding Irakli.
