Guesthouse Hillside

It’s a spacious, lavish three bedroom apartment. The only issue is the building’s entrance gate, since guests are given just one way to get in.

I can’t say for sure this is a scam, but the guesthouse was extremely unreliable and unfriendly. We booked a room for two through Booking.com and received confirmation. When we arrived in the evening, the place was a little hard to find, and the house and doorbell seemed sketchy. We rang several times before anyone answered. A very unfriendly man shouted at us repeatedly, asking who we were and what we wanted. We explained again and again that we had a booking, but he just said it was “impossible” and wouldn’t let us in. I’ve never experienced such an unfriendly refusal. He told us to cancel through Booking.com, which would have meant we paid a fee. We asked him to cancel because he wasn’t providing the room, but he didn’t. Now Booking.com is asking whether we failed to arrive. After a day of travel, we were left standing with all our luggage in a sketchy parking lot in the dark. The shouting and hostility were awful, especially since he was the one who hadn’t kept the booking. Do not book here.

The photos showed exactly what we found. It was clean, relaxed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were amazing and checked us in even though we booked late at night in an emergency. Great spot near the main street, but still quiet. Totally recommend, 10/10!

The owners were really friendly and helpful, and shared tips for our trip. There’s a large kitchen for cooking and a washing machine you can use for free. The guesthouse is on a quiet backstreet, but central enough that you can pretty much walk everywhere.
