Tato Hotel

The staff were curt and rude, and there was no welcoming drink, despite what some people had mentioned. The rooms were dark, the lights inside were very dim and kept glitching, and the whole property could do with fresh paint. The rooftop views didn't match what was advertised, and the breakfast was very poor. The photos showed pancakes, but what we mostly got was dry eggs and dry bread. I also don't trust the booking reviews. The hotel posted what looked like an automatic review in its own name and rated itself 10. It seems to be using people's identities to give itself perfect scores.

This is a lovely place, and I'm visiting for the second time. The staff are friendly, it's quiet, and there's a beautiful view over Tbilisi 😍 They have a coworking space where you can sit and work in peace, plus their own cafe and a rooftop area for relaxing 😌 Highly recommend!

We paid around 150 GEL total for three nights at Hotel Tato, so it was definitely budget friendly. The terrace offers a beautiful panoramic city view, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral is only 300 meters away. We got there easily from Didube Bus Stop using the Bolt app. The hotel is somewhat on the outskirts, though. The cathedral is close, but we generally needed a cab to get back from other market areas. Of the three rooms we booked, two had hot water and working heaters, while one didn't, so maintenance seems inconsistent. There was usually no receptionist around, which made it difficult to get help. A decent option for budget travelers if you're fine taking cabs and accepting some differences in room quality.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and a good size. You can get breakfast for an extra charge. There's no restaurant, but ordering food online is an option. My one issue was that water clogged in the shower area.
