The rooms are modern, clean, and have balconies. Staff were pleasant, and it's good value in a nice area for exploring. Getting in takes a few steps: by Domino's pizza there's a small door with an intercom. Ask to be let in, head up the stairs to the elevator, and select the top floor, 6th. Then go up half a flight and through the metal door to reach the lobby. Recommended.

There's no hotel restaurant, but KFC and the good Restaurant "Tabla" are nearby. The staff are very friendly, and you can get around on foot without needing a taxi. Shops, a supermarket, restaurants and a pharmacy are close, along with shoe, clothing, mobile phone and stationery stores. The Hotel's entrance is opposite KFC, on the 6th floor. It's very clean and inexpensive, with a superior view from the window.

I was in Tbilisi for a week on a work trip and stayed in room 9 at the MGK hotle. There were some good points, but I came away disappointed. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked very well, and the staff were usually pleasant. From room 9 you can see the TV Tower and Ferris wheel. There are lots of places to eat nearby, including along Irakli Abashidze Street, two blocks away. I can particularly recommend Sushi Room and Bernard for Georgian dinner. Domino Pizza, Subway, KFC, Hard Rock Cafe and others are also close. The old town is about a 30-minute walk, and my workplace in the Pixel Building was only five minutes away on foot. The trouble started when I returned each evening to a drain smell in the room. I couldn't find where it came from, but it seemed like a sewerage issue, and I had to air the room out first. Street noise was another problem. Room 9 is above a six-lane road with traffic all night, and the window doesn't block the sound. The Hotel is on the 6th floor, and the staircase and elevator were very shabby, even though the Hotel itself looks modern and tidy. Breakfast was limited: just one kind of jam, no other sweet spreads like Nutella or even honey, no cereal, and only instant coffee. There was also a mix-up with the shower plumbing in room 9. The hot and cold controls were reversed. For the first two mornings I thought there was no hot water because turning the lever toward hot gave me cold water. I reported it at the desk, and one staff member said she'd pass it on. The next morning the problem was still there. A different woman knew about it and showed me that hot water came from the side marked for cold. I understand it may not be an easy repair if tiles have to be removed, but other rooms at the MGK don't have this issue. In my view, the tinsmith who made the mistake should fix it. The staff were friendly, but their English wasn't very good, and they couldn't answer some basic questions. That caused confusion about my airport ride on the last evening. A hotel staff member had asked that morning what time the driver should come, and I said 1:15 am. Later, someone from my company asked the same thing. I said the Hotel was arranging a driver, but my colleague explained that my employer had a contract with a driving company, so I asked her to arrange one for 1:15 am instead. When I got back that evening, I tried to explain that I no longer needed the Hotel's driver. The staff member thought I didn't want a ride to the airport at all. I ended up waiting on the street at 1:05 am, and luckily my employer's driver arrived first. I don't know what would have happened if both drivers had arrived at once.

I'm freezing, my room isn't being cleaned, and there's nobody at reception. This is terrible! I want to get out of this hotel as soon as possible!!!
