Old Tbilisi Terrace Hotel

This one is hard to rate without the full story. My first draft was an angry one-star review, but the owner made a decent gesture and gave us a spotless room with an absurdly stunning view. The first night gets one star from me, the second gets five, hence the average. In the first room, cleanliness was poor: hair in the shower, no toilet paper or towels, and dirty glasses. If you end up sleeping there, don't drink from the cups. There was no hot water either. The receptionist said he couldn't do anything because the water felt hot to him, which felt like gaslighting. The faucet was installed backwards, too, which didn't inspire confidence in their attention to detail. At 3 AM, drunk people were fighting in the corridor. The building carries noise, and one of them, a Kazakh tourist, didn't like me asking him to stop shouting and tried to break our door. That wasn't the hotel's fault, but their response took a very long time. The room also smelled like a sewer pipe mixed with sweat and drapes that rarely get fresh air from an open window. The manager seemed like an honorable Georgian man and said we'd work something out the next day. He followed through and gave us a night in the best room, with a perfect view of Old Tbilissi at night. It was absolutely lovely.
