Pomegranate in Old Tbilisi

The room was lovely and the location very central, with a nice balcony. But every night we were there, a group gathered outside our ground-floor window from around noon until 2 or 3 after midnight. They talked loudly, threw rocks at a nearby house, and smoked. We couldn’t sleep and felt scared.

The owner was available and helpful whenever we needed her, even though there’s no receptionist. The apartments are roomy, cozy, and comfortable, with most of the amenities you need, and they’re on a quiet street in the heart of the old city, close to most places. The price was fair. They should let guests know ahead of time that they don’t accept credit cards, though, to avoid an unpleasant surprise at check-in.

We booked a few weeks in advance, but the owner canceled at the last minute and wouldn’t take responsibility. They were dishonest and tried to get us to accept a smaller room than the one we’d booked. Beware.

Katerina and her apartment are both wonderful. The location and the apartment were perfect, and it felt very safe and private. The only small thing I’d change is adding more light to the courtyard, since it gets really dark at night.
