Sheni Hostel

The location is great, the price is good, and I had nice roommates. But the place is old and heavily worn, from the blankets and pillows to the sheets and mattresses. It wasn't very clean, and a lot of things seemed close to falling apart. Pets, too. I got bedbugs here for the first time in my life. Communication wasn't great either.

I’m a Brit and stayed in the Quadruple room. It felt homely, the staff were friendly, and there were lots of amenities. Really good for the price. Good job.

For somewhere cheap, this could work. It's near the bus station and has a kitchen and common room, but there isn't much space in the room for your things and there are no lockers. The beds are old, and a spring was sticking out of my mattress. It definitely needs a refurb. I'm a bit puzzled by the rating over 4 stars; I'd give it around 2 and a half.

The price was fairly good for a place so close to the center. There's a shared kitchen if you want to cook, and you can use the washing machine for an extra five lari. Things were a little dirty, but livable if you're not picky. The towels seemed clean, though they didn't smell good. There was a bad smell inside near the entrance and on the stairs to the second floor. Some guests could be noisy around midnight, but it wasn't drunk people shouting downstairs. I also got a bit of a hostile vibe from the Russian residents. I wasn't in the hostel most of the time, so it didn't bother me that much.
