The Float

The service felt unprofessional and disorganized, and at times the staff were unfriendly. We never really felt welcome, which is why I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars, despite how lovely the property is on the shores of Lake Volta. There’s a nice pool, lots of seating and space, and even rooms on a pontoon on the lake. The rooms are functional and have kettles. Wi-Fi access was limited to the prime rooms by the river, and you had to get the password from the manager. Those rooms also got a wider breakfast selection, which felt like needless unequal treatment. Ordering breakfast was cumbersome. One room had a father and two young children, aged 3 and 6, and there was an unexpected request for an extra charge. At 7:30 a.m. the next morning, the service staff played loud music at the bar. Breakfast was suddenly ready, but couldn’t be kept warm, and was put rather carelessly on the beds. It’s a real shame, since I’d gladly have rated the place higher. I hope the service improves and this review helps, because the hotel complex deserves it.

A nice place for a couple’s getaway, but there wasn’t much for my kids to do besides swim. I wouldn’t choose it for a family with children.

The rooms are nice, the food is lovely, and the customer service was spectacular. I had a really nice experience and would definitely recommend it.

The room I got didn’t look like the pictures online, and the washroom smelled bad. The breakfast was poor, and the worst part was the customer service, which was nowhere near good. Even the owner didn’t know how to treat customers. I realized I didn’t like the place and asked to see him, but he never came down. In the end, he refused to refund my money for 2 nights. To me, that feels like a way to dupe others. I’ll never recommend the Float to anyone.
