Ocean Villa Heights

The ocean is beautiful, and so are the people. The grounds are decent, with a path down to the beach, though it's a fair walk downstairs if that's a concern. The air conditioning is good, and there's a pool, hot shower, and friendly staff. It's a decent hotel. One sad thing I noticed everywhere I went in Gambia was the amount of sex tourism. Families visiting should be prepared to see it openly. I find it sad that people come and exploit people here. I'm praying that Jesus will transform this nation so people no longer have to live under this bondage.

The hotel might be nice, but the staff are so rude.

We came from London on the 28th-30th November 2019. Ocean Villa Heights felt modern and beautiful, with a lovely path down to the beach. We met some friends there too. The room was nice, big, and spacious, easily 10/10 overall. We arrived at midnight and, like in the UK, there was nowhere open to eat. The hotel assistant who welcomed us got us some snacks. Nearly six years later, I can't remember exactly what they were, and we were still hungry, but they saw the three of us through the night and we really appreciated it. I wish that person remembered us, haha. We paid £118.99 for two nights, and it was 1000% worth it.

I spent 13 days at Ocean Villa Heights, and from the minute I arrived it felt like home. The rooms were clean and pleasant, and the cleaning ladies were lovely. They came every day, and any room issue was sorted out straight away. The cooking staff were such kind, hardworking women. They were always ready to help with anything, and the food was wonderful. I loved having little Teddy around too. I missed my dogs back home, so seeing him was a comfort. I can't wait to see him again. The managers were accommodating while the hotel expands and the team learns. I enjoyed every moment and made some beautiful friends. After reading other reviews, I can honestly say I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Gambia. Thank you all for making my visit feel so special. See you soon!
