Villa Christine Afionas Corfu

The best beaches are just a few minutes down the hill, and Palaiokastritsa is a lovely drive if you want shops, boat trips and other tourist things. The roads there are winding, though. We also drove about 20 minutes to Sidari, but found the town dirty, smelly, loud and packed with tourists. Back at Villa Christine, George and his family made us feel very welcome. They dropped by daily for a chat and brought fruit and vegetables from their garden. The house itself was spotless and well cared for, with three good-sized bedrooms, comfortable beds and air conditioning throughout. The kitchen was just right for cooking when we wanted a break from the nearby restaurants, which are easy to reach on foot. There’s a roomy front porch with plenty of seats, plus a fenced garden full of greenery and flowers where children can play. We were lucky to stay here. It’s a lovely base in an old Greek village, with beautiful views and friendly local people.
