Deep Blue

We had a nice room with a direct beach view, and the hotel team did everything they could about the only downside, the mattress being a little too soft. We had a great time at this lovely place in Prokopios and will definitely return.

We booked the suites advertised on a separate website because they claimed to have a private beach. Instead, we were put on the top floor of the Deep Blue Hotel at Agios Prokopios, and the beach access cost 40 euros. When we raised this with the person running the suites, he said he hadn't known about the claim. We had a screenshot of the website. The room was tiny and nothing like the photos, and our balcony sat right above the restaurant kitchen, so frying smells reached us all day. There were no mosquito nets on the windows or balcony door, and the street's pubs and restaurants made it hard to find a quiet moment. The hotel reception said separate staff handled the suites, but the person in charge was rarely around. We asked for an iron and it arrived 1.5 later. During our six-day stay, the cleaner came every other day and tidied the room, but the sheets were never changed. This was a terrible experience, and the service wasn't what we'd expect from a suite.

The rooms are basic, and service could be better. We couldn't find anyone at reception when we came by, including at check-in and check-out, and our room wasn't cleaned on one of the days. There's a restaurant downstairs with deck chairs on the beach, though we didn't eat there. What makes this place a great find is where it is: right by Agios Prokopios Beach, about a two-minute walk, with sea views from the room and balcony. For the price, it felt like a real bargain. We were very happy with our stay and would come back to Naxos.

The staff were rude. A tip: be a bit nicer to people who are hoping to book a room and pay you.
