Villa Anastasia in Corfu

Great villa for a vacation, especially the pool and jacuzzi. The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable. I highly recommend the house.

The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the location and layout are good: it’s on a main road but quiet, with a nice view and plenty of space. Still, quite a few problems made the stay disappointing. The pool kept overflowing, apparently because of a faulty system, and the hot tub switches and fittings were broken or loose. The house also felt run-down and was missing some everyday essentials. The TV stick didn’t work, and there was no other way to get reception, so you’d need to bring your own equipment. Mobile service only picked up an Albanian network, not a Greek one. The rooms couldn’t be heated, which was uncomfortable on cooler nights. The bed linen felt sticky, and condensation formed on an incontinence pad, making it hard to sleep. There were clothes and personal belongings left in some closets, and a wall light in the upstairs bedroom was broken. One upstairs bathroom had a bad smell and visible mold on the walls. There are lots of cats around the neighborhood. They’re friendly, but can be pushy and often ask for food. The house doesn’t match the expectations set by its photos and description, though it could have real potential with a thorough renovation and better amenities.
