Goulielmos Hotel & Spa

The staff made us feel genuinely cared for, especially Maria, who was the best, along with Simon and Natalia. Hotel Goulielmos is beautiful, quiet, and has stunning views. There are lots of restaurants a 10-minute walk away, and the hotel food was fantastic too. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return.

We enjoyed the steam room, though we ran out of time to try the other spa options. The rooms were nice, the staff were always ready to help, and breakfast had a good choice of sweet and savory cooked food. Great hotel.

The sea and Santorini sunset views from our elegant, comfortable room were breathtaking. The staff were warm, attentive, and always looking to make our stay perfect. Goulielmos Hotel felt like a dream where time stood still, and it’s the best Greek experience I’ve had so far. A real gem for relaxing and enjoying the island.

Akrotiri felt special and intimate, with beautiful caldera and mountain views and fewer crowds than Fira or Oia. We loved the quiet setting at Hotel Goulielmos, tucked into the cliffs, and our 10-day stay gave us time to see Santorini without rushing and still relax. A couple of mini markets are up the road, and the village is walkable. We had a fun night at Theofanis Greek Experience, with live music, dancing, and plate smashing. The hotel itself was beautiful. The pool area is lovely, and our room had a private lounge pool that was just cool enough to feel refreshing in the heat. Breakfast each morning had lots of choice and fresh local produce, and dinner at The Edge restaurant was fantastic. The people made the stay especially memorable. Eleftheria welcomed us like old friends and shared loads of island tips. Paris and Natalia were also exceptionally helpful, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Everyone we met was kind and friendly, and we enjoyed getting to know some people better. We’ll remember the stay forever. I’d definitely hire a car, since you can get anywhere on the island in about 35 minutes. For food, we liked Theofanis in Akrotiri, Metaxi Mas near Fira, Dimitri’s in Vlychada, and Gallini Taverna near the airport. We also recommend a traditional sunset boat cruise with Medousa, Miltos, and Stathis, horse riding in Akrotiri, a guided visit to the Akrotiri ruins and sharing the tour cost with others, and hiking up Skaros Rock for the views. Red Beach is a bit like Mars, Monolithos has actual sand instead of rocks, Caldera Beach is quiet, and Vlychada Beach has great views. I really can’t fault Hotel Goulielmos. You could pay more to stay in the busier parts of the island, but Akrotiri offered us peace and space. Thanks to everyone at the hotel, especially Eleftheria, who went through the places I’d researched and added even more ideas.
