Maison Des Lys

It was great having the peace and quiet here while still being close enough to Fira and Oia for meals and shopping. There’s plenty to do on this side of the island, and the food nearby was always delicious. The Caldera view is spectacular. Fanis in the dining area gave us phenomenal service, always kind, humble, professional, and attentive. The reception team was helpful and personable too. We loved our stay.

The hotel sits in a very quiet area, with a restaurant just a minute away. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and the sunrise over the ocean. The staff were awesome, and I’d book here again next time I’m in Santorini.

The views from the room and pool were the real highlight, easily rivaling Oia and possibly even better. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious with comfortable beds and a mini fridge. Our private plunge pool was on a shared balcony, though, so other guests could see into the room, and now and then we heard noise from them. Everything was clean and well cared for. The pool area stayed quiet, and there were always sunbeds free. Massages were available in the room through an outside service, but there’s no gym. We visited in July and had a pleasant, memorable stay, though the limited dining options cost it a star. We found the hotel somewhat remote, which suited the peaceful atmosphere. On-site parking was easy, with a space available each day, and we’d recommend hiring a car to see local sites and eat elsewhere. We’d return, but skip the meal plan. The dining room felt like a college cafeteria, with generous portions but usually just 4-5 menu choices, and 2-3 were unavailable. Desserts disappointed us, and meal preparation was slow. Breakfast was fresh but underwhelming. The fried eggs looked sunny side up, but the yolks were solid.

The food was amazing, and chef Bozhidar surprised us every day with his unique cooking. We’ll definitely return to Maison Des Lys. From the start, the staff made a great impression: our transfer was free, the driver was waiting on time, and the receptionists were very responsive. Our room was cleaned daily, and the maids did an impeccable job.
