We booked a Santorini tour and had an amazing time all over the island. The owner, Kostas Papalexis, took us himself. He was warm, kind, and friendly, and patient with our large group of senior women, giving us all the time we needed for photos. Kosta also planned an amazing dinner in Athens with entertainment. Hotel Mathios is beautiful, quiet, and relaxing, with comfortable, very clean rooms, excellent service, a wonderful pool, and meals that felt like a Greek feast. We’ll definitely come back and stay longer.

The owner and manager, Kostas, had lots of character and was keen to offer advice on places to visit and things to do. Staff were pleasant, helpful, and courteous, and the hotel is a short walk from central Akroteri, where there are several restaurants and tavernas. At check-in at Hotel Mathios, I was told I’d been upgraded to a superior room, which pleased me a lot. The room was a decent size and clean, and the bathroom and shower looked nice.

We had a wonderful week here. The whole staff were so helpful, the food was very, very delicious, the pool was beautiful, and the rooms were always clean. Our favorite person, who made the week magical, is in the picture next to me. Thank you again for all your help and your consistently kind approach to your work. We’ll definitely be back.

The food is amazing, and this hotel is wonderful. Kostas can arrange whatever tour you’d like and share his knowledge and directions for seeing the islands. You’ll really enjoy it. If you’re going to Santorini, stay here.

The beach is a little harder to reach, but tavernas and supermarkets are nearby. The travel agency at the hotel arranged two lovely trips for me, a village tour and a sunset cruise. The hotel was fabulous, really clean and modern, and the friendly, professional staff were always ready to help.
