We spent four days here in mid-October while my wife attended a conference at nearby Hellenic Med. University. The hotel made a great base, though the beach and clear water were tempting enough to keep me there most of the day. The cats roaming around were lovely too. They help keep mice away, accept little tastes from your meals, and greet you when you return from Heraklion or another outing. Our top-floor corner suite had a balcony facing the sea and mountains to the west. The power plant up the beach is easy to ignore, and the rest of the view was delightful. With the balcony door open, we could hear the waves. The bathroom was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the extra room made it easy to spread out, read and enjoy the sea air moving the curtains. Breakfast was a real highlight for me. The buffet struck a nice balance between indulgent and healthy, with honey scraped from the comb, oranges to squeeze for fresh juice, and champagne for mimosas. Pancakes, omelettes and other egg dishes were made in the kitchen and included with the buffet. The restaurant was worth staying in for lunch and dinner as well. I wasn't very keen on the chicken sandwich from the beach club menu, but the restaurant had delicious seafood, pasta and traditional Greek dishes. There are also lots of great restaurants along the main strip. We had a rental car and found plenty of parking just off the buildings. There's also a bus into downtown along the main strip, an easy walk from the hotel.

The sea view from our room was the part of our Crete stay I'll remember most. We left the balcony door open at night and fell asleep to the waves. Yianna Caravel is adults-only and set up well for a relaxed beach break, with a beach club and restaurants only steps away. The hospitality was lovely, and I had an incredible Cretan olive oil massage. I'm picky about massages, so I especially recommend it if you are too. We liked the on-site restaurant so much that we ate nearly every meal there. They brought out the fresh fish so we could pick what we wanted before it was cooked, and the prices were very reasonable compared with other nearby places. Breakfast was included and genuinely delicious. Stefanos at the bar was especially friendly and welcoming. We'd absolutely stay again.

The breakfast by the beach was a lovely way to start the day, with lots of tasty things to try. We also had dinner at the restaurant, and it was even better. Our sea-view room had a spacious balcony, cozy beds and a well-equipped bathroom, and everything was spotless. The air conditioning worked perfectly, there was plenty of storage, and the furniture was modern. I liked the homey maritime decorations. Good value for money, and I'd recommend it.

The staff were friendly and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were clean, pleasant and fully functional, with a lovely view, and the hotel is very close to the sea. It seemed like the best option among the hotels nearby. We also appreciated not feeling ripped off as tourists.

The staff and reception made our four-day stay in Crete especially enjoyable. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and accommodating, and they even packed breakfast for our early flight. That thoughtful gesture moved us. As a vegetarian, I also appreciated that they did their best to accommodate my diet. The food and drinks were excellent. Right by the beach, the hotel has a calm, relaxing feel that really put us in holiday mode. My husband and I would highly recommend it for the kind staff, good food and access to a brilliant beach.
