We chose the apartment mainly for its location. It has beach access, though there wasn't much beach activity in April, and it's handy for the main road to Iraklio and places like Knossos, Archanes, Zaros, and even Matala. Supermarkets and shops for daily needs are close, and there's a large free parking area within walking distance, which was a plus with our rental car. We stayed three nights in April 2025. Our third-floor apartment had a sea view, but there's no elevator, so keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage. The owner was friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and tidy, though it could use some refurbishment. For self-catering, the kitchen equipment is basic, but the owner will help if you need something special. The pool and bar were closed in April, though the location still looked nice. The area may be more attractive in high season.

The beach and pool were real highlights, and my friends and I were very pleased with the service, location, amenities, and kind management. Nikolas and Georgia were lovely, and we also got to meet their equally friendly family. It's easy to catch buses to downtown Heraklion, historic landmarks, attractions, and the HER airport. Taverns with all kinds of food, pubs, bars, and plenty of convenience supermarkets are within walking distance. We'd definitely stay here again on our next visit.

My son and I stayed for a month because of his work situation, so I got a good sense of the place. The apartment was thoughtfully laid out and had everything we needed. Once they knew we would be there a while, we were upgraded to a three-person apartment. The furniture was fresh and the beds very comfortable. Cleaning was every 2-3 days. Nicolas, the owner, and his brother were generous with their help, and no question or problem felt like an issue they couldn't solve. It's just steps from the beach, in a quieter part of Amoudara, with good restaurants and all kinds of shops nearby. The bus stop is a few steps away too. I really recommend this apartment hotel.

Albatross was a brilliant place to stay for a great week in Crete, surrounded by wonderful people. You have everything you need here, as long as you're not expecting a brand-new, top-notch room. For luxury, choose a hotel. For an amazing holiday, Albatross can still do the job. I'll be back.

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and went out of their way to help us. They even gave the kids juice and homemade snacks for the airport. Our apartment was a good size and close to the beach. The pool was closed for autumn, but we liked the toys in the pool area, and there's a small play area across the street. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance, and the bus stop is just across the road. Buses 1 and 20 go to Heraklion, and bus 6 brings you back to the hotel from Heraklion. Buying bus tickets at the supermarket before boarding saves money. Thanks for a great stay 😊
