The food was really good quality, tasty, and the fish was fresh. We found the atmosphere welcoming too. Much better than fourseasons, the restaurant next to Esperida. 100% recommended.

The artichoke vegetable soup is my personal favorite, and I also love the fish dishes and slow-cooked meats on the specials menu. Taverna Esperida was recommended by locals as one of the island's top places to eat, and I can see why. It serves traditional Greek recipes, including plenty of grandma-style dishes made with fresh local produce. The staff are very friendly, speak several languages, and the tablet ordering system keeps things running smoothly, with no mishaps or disappointments. There's a homely atmosphere, warm service, and a convenient location. This is our number one spot on the island, and we always look forward to coming back.

We kept going back during our May 2024 trip to Karpathos, and ended up becoming friends with the staff. They're such welcoming, friendly people. The food is delicious, and there are good vegetarian versions of dishes like moussaka and pastitsio that usually have meat, something we didn't find at many other restaurants. Can't wait to come back :)
