Dryades Villa

Armeni has the basics close by, including a bakery, taverns, a supermarket, an ATM and a gas station. For bigger shopping, Rethymno is only 8 km away, and the villa's central position also made day trips around Crete convenient. It's on a hill, so driving up the steep access road takes a bit of nerve, but it's manageable. From the house there's a lovely view over Armeni, and Nikos was friendly and helpful throughout. We were six adults in April 2019, and the villa had the comforts we wanted inside and out. There are two floors, with one bedroom and bathroom downstairs, plus three large bedrooms and a large bathroom upstairs. The rooms are nicely decorated, and the upstairs bathroom has a washing machine. Upstairs doors open onto two big terraces. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher and the other appliances and utensils we needed. The living area opens onto a covered terrace by the pool. At the back there's a seating spot with a large stone barbecue, and behind the villa is a garden where guests can pick herbs, oranges and lemons.

The hosts made us feel so welcome, with wine, raki and fruit. This villa was incredible, and we'd be back in a heartbeat.

A lovely, clean villa with a pool and nice decor. It's also within reasonable reach of any beach in Crete.
