Acropolis Hill

Breakfast was the highlight for us, with lots to choose from each morning, including a delicious range of Greek pies. We also found the rooms very clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet, which made for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. In a peaceful residential area close to the Acropolis, it's a lovely base for exploring the city. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.

There's a view of the Parthenon from the terrace, which was a plus. The rooms were clean and hygienic, but incredibly compact, and the bathrooms felt so cramped that larger people may struggle to use them. A persistent drain smell also lingered in the room. It could work for one night if you find a budget-friendly deal, but with everything so small, I wouldn't recommend it for families or a relaxing holiday. An average stay overall.

The outdoor area on the fifth floor has a view of the Acropolis and is well worth seeing. Breakfast was good, with lots of options, and the 24/7 front desk staff were efficient and helpful. The bed was comfortable too. Our basic room was clean, with a fantastic city view from the balcony, though the paint was scuffed and the bathroom had a strong smoke smell that I think came through the vents. All the hotels I stayed in across the country had scuffs and a smoke tinge, so this wasn't unusual. Welcome to Greece. Acropolis Hill Hotel is a decent option if you want a better price than staying in Plaka. It's just outside the tourist zone, but getting back after a day out means a serious uphill climb. You have to choose between a steep road and four to six flights of outdoor stairs. The climb every night was brutal, and I wouldn't book here if you have accessibility issues.

We were here for three days and it was nearly perfect. The rooms were clean and the employees friendly. We had an issue with our room on the first day, but an employee called “Eleni” fixed it right away. She also helped us book a restaurant. Thanks again for her wonderful hospitality.
