The staff were so warm, always smiling and ready to help. Since we had an early departure on our last morning, they thoughtfully left breakfast food in the fridge for us. The hotel was spotless, the rooms comfortable, and the balcony room was a great pick. You also can't beat the location, just a three-minute walk from Monastiraki.

We were four couples waiting to leave on a cruise, and this hotel suited us really well. There's plenty of food, shopping and things to do right outside. It's a quick train ride from the airport, and the hotel is about 500 meters away. In the old center of Athens, right at the foot of the Acropolis, it's a lovely boutique place. The hotel had been recently renovated in a modern style and was very clean, with friendly, helpful staff. The fresh breakfast is made in front of you and was delicious, so take that option. Getting to the port took another short subway ride, about 20 minutes and less than €2.

The room was clean and in good condition, and breakfast was fine, but the heating problem made the stay impossible to enjoy. I wouldn't recommend coming here in colder weather. At around 2°C outside, we ended up sleeping in sweaters under blankets. We reported the lack of heat several times, but it was never fixed. The room was cold when we arrived, and setting the air conditioning to 30°C as instructed didn't warm it through the night. We mentioned it at reception the next morning; they said it had happened before and suggested lowering it to 24°C, which made no difference. After a day out sightseeing in cold weather, we came back to another freezing room. The next morning a staff member adjusted the unit and said it should work, but it was still cold. There was also confusion over check-in. Booking.com listed check-in from 15:00, yet at 13:58 we got a message saying reception was already unattended and we could only check in ourselves.

The breakfast bar next door, run by the same group, had excellent choices. The hotel itself is in a lively, funky part of town, right near the center of everything. The team of women running it were really friendly and cheerful. Just note that the desk is open only until 16:00.

A good value in a busy area. Monastiraki Square Metro station is close, along with restaurants, shops, museums, historic sites and plenty more. The rooms were neat and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
