Nur Edge Aparthotel - Acropolis Skyline

A clean, modern apartment in a central spot, just a few minutes’ walk from Sintagma Metro station. The Parthenon view matches the picture exactly. I’d choose this place again when I return to Athens.

The Acropolis view was the best part of our stay, absolutely breathtaking. We also loved how much of Athens we could explore on foot from this location. Inside the NUR floors, everything felt sleek and modern, and our room was spacious, nicely decorated and had plenty of storage. There was complimentary water and a couple of beers in the fridge. Getting there is less appealing: the hotel entrance and lifts feel old and uninviting, quite different from the rooms. The bathroom wall is see-through, though we were told it would soon be tinted for more privacy. Bells from the nearby church can also get a bit loud, though that’s outside NUR’s control.

I’m tempted to keep this place to myself. The welcome was lovely, and the location is hard to beat. The rooms felt new, clean and well looked after. Don’t be put off by the entrance, inside it’s completely peaceful despite the shopping street below. From bed, my room looked straight at the Acropolis hill, so I could see it as soon as I woke up. After 33 years, this is the hotel stay I’ll remember most.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and checking in by ourselves was easy. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely designed, and after we changed rooms we had an amazing Acropolis view. But the noise was a real problem. In our first room on the 4th floor, we could hear the street, doors opening and closing, and even toilets flushing. I couldn’t sleep for the first two nights until we moved. The building entrance is old and unwelcoming, which the listing doesn’t show. Although the rooms look modern, the building itself is much older, and the windows aren’t insulated. Light sleepers should know the soundproofing is poor. We liked the staff and the rooms, but the noise and the way the property is presented were disappointing.
