Vrachos Athens Suites

Great location, and the place was very clean and organized. There’s no elevator or reception, and the room was too expensive for how badly I slept. If you get a room facing the street, it’s really noisy until 3-4 a.m. and noisy again in the morning.

The room was exactly like the photos and really comfortable, with everything from the air conditioning to the mini fridge clean and in good shape. My fiancé and I had a lovely stay at Vrachos Athens Suites, and getting in from the street felt easy and secure. We’d happily come back.

The central location is convenient, but the street noise made it nearly impossible to leave the windows open at night. We booked a triple room, though the third bed was a worn sofa bed with springs sticking out, uncomfortable enough to seem like it could hurt someone’s back. There was barely any storage for three people, just one drawer and an open rack, no wardrobe. We also had only two towels per guest, a hand towel and a bath towel. We’d asked for an extra set before arriving, but didn’t get one. After using the small towel for hair, there wasn’t a proper one left for hands. This was listed as a hotel on Booking.com, but there was no reception, lobby, or staff on site. We only learned after paying and just 24 hours before arrival that the building had no elevator, so hauling our luggage up three floors was a rough start. When we raised the sofa bed issue late at night, we were told nothing could be done until room service came the next morning. There was no one available around the clock to deal with problems as they came up. Calling this a hotel set expectations the stay fell far short of.

The streets can be a bit loud around 9pm-10pm, but they provide ear plugs, which helps. Lorena was so attentive and helpful, and Vrachos is gorgeous. It’s perfectly placed near good restaurants, grocery stores, and tourist spots. I’d stay again 🙂
