Zeus Wyndham Grand Athens Hotel

We spent one night at Wyndham Athens on February 25th with our daughter and were warmly welcomed by Niki and Vivian at reception. We arrived early, but they still got a lovely room ready for us. The hotel is easy to reach from the airport by metro and within walking distance of the city center. Niki was there again when we checked out the next morning and left us with a very positive impression. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Wyndham Grand Athens for one night before a cruise in May 2025. We'd booked a Junior Suite, and getting a complimentary upgrade to an Executive Suite with an Acropolis view was a lovely gesture and a great start. The modern public areas were clean and well presented, and our suite was spacious and nicely decorated. But the lighting was very poor, leaving the room especially dark in the evenings and less comfortable and practical than we'd expected. Our main concern was hygiene. We found several cockroaches in the room during our short stay, despite being on a fairly high floor. It was unsettling and affected our comfort. Management were polite, apologized, and tried to put things right. They arranged a complimentary dinner at the rooftop restaurant. The views and setting were lovely, but the service was disorganized. It seemed like many of the staff were students or trainees. They brought the wrong dishes, overcooked the steaks, and served our food at different times. Two of us ate while the other two waited another ten minutes. One permanent waiter went out of his way to help and really stood out, though we didn't catch his name. Konstantina at reception also deserves a mention. She was warm and professional and genuinely tried to make the stay smoother despite the problems, a real credit to the hotel. The immediate neighborhood didn't feel particularly pleasant or comfortable, especially at night, though that's not directly the hotel's fault. We stayed aware of our surroundings when walking nearby, and other guests may want to bear that in mind for late arrivals or evenings out. There were good points, including the modern design, friendly front desk staff, and rooftop views. Still, the pest problem and uneven restaurant service meant the stay fell short of our expectations. Better room maintenance and more consistent service would make this a much stronger stay.

The staff really made our week at Wyndham Grand Athens memorable. Everyone was helpful, polite, friendly, and knowledgeable, and we highly recommend the hotel. We'll definitely stay again. We used it as our base while wandering around Athens for a week. The hotel looks great inside, the rooms are spacious, and the location is convenient for visiting the sights and ruins, with a couple of nice restaurants right on the doorstep. The rooftop pool is small but adequate, and the rooftop bar and restaurant have an amazing view of the Acropolis. The food was fresh and tasty, too.

From beginning to end, the service and attention at the Wyndham Hotel Grand Athens were outstanding. Georgia deserves a special mention. She was professional, attentive, always ready to help with a smile, and made our stay even better. Her care and that of the rest of the team was a perfect 10 out of 10. We highly recommend the hotel and would gladly return on our next Athens visit.
