Apartments Amalia

The staff I met were lovely and exceptionally helpful, and it was handy to be able to order coffee, drinks or small snacks at any time, day or evening. The kitchenette was plenty for cooking pasta, since there are great taverns and street food within walking distance. My favorite was Pita Gyros near the port! 🥙 I spent the first half of October here and had a wonderful holiday. My apartment was bright, spacious, designer-style and well thought out. Even when the weather turned bad and I spent time indoors, I felt comfortable. The mattress was super comfortable too. And the mountain views from room number 5's balcony and the pool were amazing. I definitely want to come back.

Our stay was ruined by the broken toilet in apartment nr. 5, next to reception. It smelled, and having to deal with it while staying with the kids was awful. When we asked to move, we were told we could check out and find another hotel if we didn't like it. That was a very rude response. The alternative was to wait for a plumber later in the day, which we did. The repair didn't solve the problem: they used some silicone, the smell got worse, and smelly liquid kept leaking. The woman apologized when we checked out, but a room with a damaged toilet should never be assigned to guests. The behavior was really impolite. I strongly recommend avoiding AMALIA hotel. We had the pleasure of staying elsewhere in Crete, where we met very kind and honest hosts.

The service was great, and everyone was friendly. Our clean, pleasant room had a beautiful view over the beach.

Nikki and Yanis were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The experience wouldn't have been the same without them. Amalia Apartments is cozy, with a wonderful view of the beach, and the pool is warm and suitable for children. The bar is more than reasonably priced.
