Lucy Hotel

The location is good, but this felt expensive for what we got, and the little charges didn’t make for a nice experience. We paid €15 for parking for the day, which seemed high, and were charged a €10 tourist tax at checkout. That hadn’t happened to me elsewhere in Greece. Our “sea view room” looked onto another building, and I had to lean halfway out over the balcony to see a corner of the ocean. The room was fairly large, but basic and a little old fashioned. For that price I expected bottled water, though there was a minibar with an expensive price list. Breakfast was basic at best. We won’t be back.

The room was modestly furnished, and the bathroom drains gave off an unpleasant smell. Adding a second guest to the booking cost us another 25 euros per night, but we stayed in the same size room with a small bed and weren’t offered a larger one.

The best part for me was facing the water and being able to enjoy the beautiful view from the room balcony. The hotel was great despite having only a 4 star rating. Accommodation, room, cleanliness, and facilities were all okay, the quietness was great, and the price was reasonable.

Dinner was a highlight of our half-board stay at Lucy Hotel. The fish was tasty, served at the table rather than buffet style, and came with a glass of wine. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant overlooks the Euripus Strait. Breakfast had a decent variety and was good, though not exceptional. The view was beautiful. The hotel sits right on the waterfront, surrounded by restaurants and bars, so it’s handy for exploring Chalkida’s lively local scene. Our refurbished room didn’t have a bay view, but it was quiet despite the busy promenade. I found the mattress uncomfortable, though that’s just my personal preference. The staff gave excellent service throughout our stay. Thank you, Alexandra! There’s no free parking at the hotel. It has a paid lot, but we didn’t use it because we easily found a free spot nearby. Lucy Hotel is a good fit if you like lively nightlife, good service, and comfortable accommodation.
