George gave us great suggestions for our time in Old Town and was very accommodating. From our room we had an amazing bay view, and the hotel's location made it incredibly easy to get around on foot. The historic building is charming, and the staff are friendly and professional. There is no elevator, and cars can't enter Old Town, so you'll walk a few minutes from where they can go. If that works for you, this is well worth it. I can't think of a better place if you want to support a small family-run hotel.

George at the desk was incredibly friendly and made our whole stay in Chania. He shared excellent restaurant suggestions and local tips for getting to places like Samaria gorge and Balos Beach, and made us feel right at home. It's a great little hotel by the Venetian port, with waterfront views. If I'm back in the area, I'll stay here again.

Helena Hotel is less than a minute from Chania Venetian Old Port, right at the heart of life in Chania. Our room was about $100 SGD per night and didn't include breakfast, but the location was excellent. When we arrived, George welcomed us and upgraded us to a double room overlooking the Chania Old Venetian Port. He also took time to recommend places for meals, from Cretan food to seafood, as well as breakfast spots for the next two days. We only booked this room at the last minute for one night, and if we'd known how lovely it was, we would have stayed longer. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the location was fantastic, and this was the best AC we had anywhere in Europe. We slept like babies and ate like kings at the restaurants they recommended. Parking is nearby, just a short walk away, and we had no noise trouble during our one-night stay.

The harbour view from our room was lovely, and we could walk around the Old Port right from the hotel. Our room was roomy, clean, and had AC. George was so welcoming and gave us good ideas for food and things to do. He even called to book a table for us. We found street parking nearby without much trouble, about a 5-10 minute walk away. Such a gem in Chania Old town. We'd happily stay here again.
