Lucia Hotel

The main draw is the location, right in the town centre and close to everything. It’s an affordable option if you want to stay centrally, and I think most of the price goes toward that. The friendly, helpful staff made a difference, and breakfast was okay, with the basics but nothing fancy. The hotel is quite old-fashioned, which shows in the decor and the outdated room. My balcony was very small, the bathroom cramped, and noise travelled easily from the hallways and other rooms. You get what you pay for. If you want something modern or luxurious, this may not be for you.

At night, we opened the doors and could hear the waves lapping in the harbour, which made for a lovely atmosphere. Our balcony room has stunning views of the Venetian harbour. The room and bathroom are small, but very clean and functional, and the bed is really comfortable. Staff are very helpful. A simple breakfast is available for €12 if you want it. We thoroughly recommend Lucia Hotel for a lovely romantic and historic experience. Try the Taman restaurant next door too!

We had a sea-facing room for two nights. It was small, but the bed was comfortable, and the harbour view from the room was awesome. The hotel staff were friendly and nice, and let us leave our bags after checkout. A great place to experience Chania old town, with the best location.

Two nights wasn’t enough, and I regret not staying longer. This budget hotel puts you right in the centre of old town, among restaurants and bars, with public transit and parking nearby. The view is amazing, and the staff were very helpful. Since people coming to Chania mostly hang out in the old town, it was really convenient to be right there. As a solo woman traveller, I also felt very safe.
