Traditional Hotel Ontas

This is a nice little hotel in an excellent spot, no more than a 10-minute walk from anywhere in the old town. We stayed one night and the small room was fine for that, though it might feel claustrophobic after a couple of nights. It had no balcony either, but we knew both things when we booked. There's a cute garden beside the hotel where you can sit with a drink or lunch. Just be aware the hotel isn't staffed 24 hours. The receptionist was friendly enough and shared a few local tips. There was free parking nearby, and the air con worked well.

For convenience and comfort, I can't recommend this place enough. The atmosphere is great by day and night, and it feels very safe to walk around after dark. Waterfront restaurants, bars, and shops are just a short walk away. The staff and hospitality were immaculate, and they helped arrange tours and taxis to beaches and historic places on the other side of the island. Angie was amazing, with great suggestions for eating, shopping, and swimming. The rooms were clean and cozy, and I couldn't find a single bad thing to say about our stay. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed one night between landing at Chania airport and transferring south. The accommodation was perfect: we slept well thanks to the good airco, and breakfast was tasty and excellent. Restaurants and bars are literally just around the corner.

A nice little hotel with quite pleasant, very clean rooms. There are lots of cafes nearby, mostly frequented by young people, and everything relevant in Chaina is within walking distance. There are plenty of extras, including air-conditioning and free Raki. An excellent vegan and vegetarian organic restaurant is just around the corner. I paid less than I would've through online booking.
