Barocco Wave Hotel

The location is great, but the price no longer matches what you get, especially given how terrible the room cleaning is. The cleaning staff are very noisy, knocking persistently on every door from 9.30 and talking loudly in the corridors. Rooms are left smelling nasty and dirty, and Wi-Fi doesn’t work on the upper floor. The hotel used to be perfect for maintenance and service.

I stayed here 2 years ago, and from what I can see, everything is still as good as it was then. The sea view from my room was breathtaking every day, and having a private beach right at my doorstep felt like a dream. The hotel was impeccably clean, with a cozy, home-away-from-home feel and charming decor with lovely attention to detail. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, and I slept well every night. The hosts were welcoming and attentive, which made the stay even better. A memorable seaside retreat!

We’re here now and have already spent 5 days at the hotel. So far, they’ve forgotten to clean our room, take out the garbage, or leave bathroom paper on 3 out of 5 days. Our room is on ‘Barocco Island’ and has no kitchenette, though we do have spoons and a knife. There’s nothing green nearby, and even though there’s free parking, every day a car is parked 15 cm from our balcony. I’d read that the beach in front was sandy, but there are actually a lot of rocks. I really can’t recommend this hotel.

I’d put this somewhere between four and five stars. The room was roomy, the beach was close, and the triple glazing kept things amazingly quiet. A few things took away from the stay: hot water was a problem before the sun came up, the Wi-Fi was really poor, and the closet light switched on automatically in an annoying way. Also, the beach bar bill came to €30 per day, which wasn’t ideal.
