The food was the part that disappointed us most. It was often cold, didn’t seem very fresh, and lacked both flavour and variety. It was repetitive day after day, so we ate out quite a lot, which wasn’t great for an all-inclusive stay. We really liked the location at St George Palace in North Corfu, with lovely views and the beach about a ten-minute walk away. The hotel has great facilities and three fantastic pools, especially the fun water slide. Our room was okay and the cleaners kept it spotless each day. The shower did flood easily, but otherwise it was clean and comfortable. A huge thank you to Donny at reception. He was brilliant, so friendly, and we had a great time chatting with him.

The location was okay, but there wasn’t much to do in the village, and I can’t recommend this hotel. We had cold water for several days while it was already cold outside, and it made me sick. Then the electricity was out for a whole day. The food was quite cold and mostly the same all week. Worst of all, there were bed bugs. When we told reception, the manager said, “Well, I don’t see it.” The conditions didn’t feel sanitary. It was the worst experience ever.

The rooms are a bit dated, but they were clean and comfortable. I’m vegetarian, though, and the buffet had very limited options for me each day. We went as a family for a week in October, almost at the end of the season, so lots of places were already closed. The weather was still nice and we had a good trip. The hotel seems to have two buildings. We stayed in both because we had to move for one night, and they seemed to have more or less the same style and standard. The reception team at st george hotel were kind and helpful, especially the morning staff like Joanna. Thanks for helping us with taxis and getting around the island! The bell made my trip 😃🛎️🛎️🛎️ There are gorgeous views from the hotel, and a beautiful beach and lovely surroundings about ten minutes away on foot. We visited lots of villages. A bus goes straight to stunning Corfu Town, and reception can help with that. Car rentals are easy to find too. I already miss the Corfu beauties everywhere around the hotel and along the way to the beach. We fed them every day, and I hope they’re doing well. Please feed these gorgeous poor cats whenever you get a chance, it means a lot. ♥️

We ended up going out for meals and drinks because the hotel was so bad. The food was grim and very basic, and nothing was hot, only warm at best. Drinks were a poor selection, with watered-down beer and cheap fizzy pop, all served in plastic cups day and night. Two staff members were brilliant, but the others acted like they didn’t know you were there. One barman was rude and would just slam your drink down. Our room was small, with a frosted glass bathroom door for the toilet. Our family came to join us for birthday celebrations, but a room issue meant they had to stay two nights at a hotel 30 minutes away. While that was happening, we saw other people actually checking in.

The reception staff were really helpful whenever we asked questions, and helped us figure out the buses and our trip to Aqualand. That made it much easier to get out and explore. There’s a beach a short walk away, with local shops and restaurants nearby; we tried a couple and enjoyed them. Bus options are limited. The A7 goes to Corfu town, but you need to book tickets in advance at Alexandros Bikes by the beach, for €4 each way. There was another bus, but I can’t remember where it went. Our room was basic but clean, with essentials like a fridge, TV and hairdryer. The balcony looked over the main pool, and the air-conditioning was great. Sheets and towels were changed every three days, which I thought was good from a sustainability point of view. The shower was a letdown: the rusty holder came away from the wall a couple of times, and the showerhead was rusted or damaged too, so water came out of its side. We didn’t mention it because we could manage, but it’s a shame nobody caught it before our stay. There was a sulphur smell, especially in the outdoor seating area. I doubt the hotel can control it, and it’s probably from the island’s older plumbing. The food was okay, with salads, stuffed vegetables and plenty of meat and fish to choose from. It was fairly basic and tasty, though sometimes repetitive, and I wanted something different by the end of the week. It would help to label allergens for my gluten-intolerant friend, although I understand that may not be possible for a small business. I wasn’t keen on the ice cream or the wines, but the cocktails and soft drinks were very good. The staff were friendly and willing to help. I’d give the place 3.5 stars; it didn’t feel like a four-star hotel.
