Villa Karmar

The room smelled of mold, and the furniture was really old. There were huge crickets and ants around, so keep the windows closed. Open the small toilet window and you'll find more than 20 moth flies. The shower is only 60x60, leaving you pressed against the curtain, and the water comes and goes. Breakfast barely varies. They change one dish every two days. Blankets are replaced every three days. Air conditioning costs extra, and with temperatures at 35 degrees, you have to pay for it. The so-called "Cocktail Bar" by the pool lists different cocktails on a board, but there was no ice and no cocktails. The emergency kit had disinfectant but no band-aids. For the price they're asking, you can find somewhere much better further away.

The staff were really helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. The pool was great, though it could have used some cleaning. The room itself was very basic, with no headboard or bedside tables, and you could hear everything from next door. Breakfast was poor, the place needs some renovation, and using the A/C costs extra. Anything else you need comes with an additional charge. It felt overpriced for what it offers.

We spent a couple of weeks here and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were comfortable, and we enjoyed the pool. There were mostly couples staying, but it also seemed like a good setting for young kids. The owners were incredibly kind and happy to help us get around the islands, and they'd have drinks with us when we got back from a long day. We'd absolutely come again.

The atmosphere is what made Villa Karmar special for us. The owners were so friendly that we felt at home, and Christos helped with all sorts of things, from car rental to beach equipment. He also suggested plenty of places to visit. We really enjoyed our holiday and can recommend it. It's a cozy place with a huge pool and good breakfasts. Prices are reasonable, too.
