Aristotelis Hotel

Palaia Epidavros feels like just the right place for a restorative holiday. Aristotelis Hotel sits on a hillside above the sea, and Gialasi Beach is only a five minute walk downhill, even on a very hot day. From the lovely room balconies, you get fabulous views of the hills, bay, and mountains. The pool, dining room, and bar were immaculate and inviting. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was a real smorgasbord. Thoroughly recommend.

The pool was excellent, with a lovely view, and the bar is just a short walk away. I was here because a colleague chose the hotel for an event, and this is my first and only hotel stay in Greece so far. I’ve enjoyed it very much. The grounds are lovely, with fruit trees, flowers, and other foliage, though that does mean some mosquitoes. Think about how far to leave your window open, and consider bringing repellent if that concerns you. The AC in Gamma 6 was very effective and quieter than this type usually is. My room was clean and comfortable, though the power plugs were only by the TV, not around the room. WiFi was weak and sometimes dropped out, so if you need to do more online than check in, you may want to find out what it’s like at other hotels. The view is easy to enjoy from lots of spots around the grounds and from many balconies. Every morning I watched a dazzling sunrise over the water from my small but comfortable balcony. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The service was friendly and competent. Some staff may have trouble understanding you if you don’t speak Greek, unless you make clear what you want, but they were patient and good natured. A little patience and respect on your part should get you whatever they can provide. I was able to arrange a modified cleaning one day and customize some breakfast items. The freshly squeezed orange juice was spectacular. This lovely area is worth a break from bigger, more modern, or commercial hotel experiences, for a pleasant stay at a smaller scale.

The hotel is only 1 min from the beach, with fragrant orange trees all around. Aris is the friendliest hotelier ever! We had excellent service and warm hospitality, and the rooms were spotless with great views. Breakfast was homemade with local products, and there’s a large swimming pool and lounge area. We had such a great time and will definitely come back!

A lovely setting for good food and drinks, and a great place to stay too. The facilities and rooms were clean and in great shape.
