Ayama Hideaway Villa made for a wonderful, relaxing luxury getaway. It was a beautiful, comfortable villa with a stunning view, and the friendly, attentive staff made the stay even better. Highly recommend.

I came home feeling like I'd just been camping and needed a vacation after this one. Nothing about the stay felt relaxing, and I've never been so eager to get home, shower, and sleep. Before we arrived, the hotel made a poor attempt to contact us about arrival. We don't use WhatsApp, and they didn't try email or another way. Nobody was there to check us in at the house, so we had to go to the hotel. They took my husband's card details in a way that concerned me; after reading reviews about the hotel, I understand why it felt wrong. He wasn't given the key either, because someone was meant to drive it to the house. They were only minutes up the street but took ages, so we waited even longer. I'd requested a crib in advance and they confirmed it, but there wasn't one when we arrived. They did bring one later, filthy and inside a garbage bag. I cleaned it myself, and the wipes came away black. Our mattress was gross too, with hairs and other things under the sheets and between the mattress. The base of the house looked clean, but dead flies in a bedroom corner, grime and hairs in other corners, and the filthy outdoor area made the dirt obvious. The seating outside hadn't been washed, there were spider webs, and the outdoor floors didn't seem to get washed down. No one cleaned on the first day. After that we had to ask, which was annoying with the tiny trash cans that filled quickly. Another day was missed, and our outdoor towels were never replaced. We hardly used the outdoor areas because the house is next to a donkey farm and smelled of hot pee. Inside, it sounded like the donkeys were walking above us and making noise all night. We didn't sleep through our stay, because of that or barking dogs. The surrounding streets were full of trash, and the location felt very bad for a vacation. We thought about leaving after the first night. The hotel's food was bad. We ordered once and didn't again. Breakfast only starts at 9, which is crazy late. I understand it's not advertised as kid-friendly, but it wasn't kid-friendly.
