Mellow Luxury Cave

I was disappointed by how Mellow Luxury Cave in Santorini, Greece handled our reservation. When an unforeseen issue came up with the booking, the staff wouldn’t work with us toward a compromise. They were dismissive and showed no sympathy, which struck me as a lack of compassion and professionalism from a business focused on hospitality and tourism. I would not recommend this property.

My siblings and I lost every penny, and my parents had to give up the trip they’d dreamed of for years after an airline issue forced a schedule change. We had saved for months for their trip. We offered to postpone or change our plans, even move to a different property, to meet Mellow Luxury Cave halfway, but they wouldn’t consider it. The staff seemed courteous and happy to take our money when we booked, then shut the door on any flexibility. It saddens me to leave a negative review, because I usually make a point of praising exceptional service and professionalism. This property showed neither. The management was horrible, and the customer service was even worse.

I’m amazed this property is still in business given its poor management, terrible hospitality, and appalling customer service. When I booked, I never expected them to handle an unexpected reservation issue so badly. They were dismissive and showed no interest in finding common ground. My disappointment is hard to put into words. For a Santorini tourism property, I thought they’d know how to address a problem like this, but I was wrong. Find somewhere else for your trip. This property doesn’t deserve your business!

The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean, and Kate and the rest of the staff were the nicest people. This was the most amazing hotel we've ever stayed at, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
