Anemomilos Villa

We booked through booking.com, and I wanted to share the review I left there because we had a really great stay. This was one of the nicer affordable places we've stayed on our travels. The staff were relaxed, generous, friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of tips on places to visit and eat in Santorini. The reception area stays open through the day, with free coffee, hot drinks and cold water. The machine hot chocolate was surprisingly rich and chocolatey, and there were complimentary snacks too. Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was ready an hour early, so they let us in, which we really appreciated. It looked even nicer than the photos. There's no window, but a frosted glass panel in the door lets in light and can be covered at night. With it covered, the room was very dark and we slept well. The AC was very good, the pillows were just the right height, and the towels were big and fluffy. There was also a hairdryer and a fridge/freezer. Everything was so clean that the floor stayed spotless under bare feet. There's a friendly white cat with blue eyes that hangs around outside, matching the city's blue domes. The pool and common areas were nice, and there's a line for drying swimwear and clothes. Things dry very fast here, in about half a day. On checkout day we had a long wait for our evening ferry, and the lovely staff let us sit in the air-conditioned reception area, out of the heat. They also stored our luggage for free before or after check-in and check-out. The walk from Fira bus station takes about 20 minutes uphill, so it could be hot with a lot of luggage. The incline is slight, though, and not very steep.
