Bios Santorini Vegan - Vegetarian Boutique Hotel

I'm writing this a little late because I couldn't get into my Google account until now. My partner and I stayed here from 18-23 July (2025), and it was a very disappointing experience. We booked expecting a vegan, wellness-focused, relaxing five-star hotel. Instead, on arrival it felt more like a construction site. There was no bar, restaurant, snacks, or food anywhere on the property. After our flight we wanted to unwind by the pool with a drink, but were told the bar had recently closed. One of the women working there kindly brought me a complimentary bottle of wine from a back room, which I appreciated, but it didn't change the fact that we couldn't just order the drink we wanted. My partner had recently had surgery and had only just been cleared by his doctor to travel, so we'd hoped for a restful stay. We ended up driving to Lidl to buy snacks and drinks for the room. It felt more like a hostel than a five-star hotel. Other than water in the room, there was no food service, just an option to have a vegan breakfast hamper delivered to the door. When we asked for fresh towels at reception, they questioned why we needed extra ones. The pool area didn't look well maintained to us. A hose was hanging into the swimming pool at one point, and there were rough edges around the area. The free parking was basically a rough yard across the road, which felt unpleasant and unsafe. We were told it was an adults-only hotel, but a family with children arrived the next day. We didn't mind the family itself; it just added to the impression that the information we got about the hotel wasn't consistent. We also saw the online advertisement being edited during our stay, and some things shown when we booked had disappeared from the listing. At night, the reception door is shut and the only contact for help is a WhatsApp number. That didn't make us feel safe or supported in the way we'd expect at a hotel, and there seemed to be very little staff around overall. The only good thing about the experience was being in beautiful Santorini. We spent most of our time at beaches and restaurants around the island, but that didn't improve the hotel stay. I'd honestly like to know what rating system considers this place five stars. As it is now, it might suit young people who want to party and just need somewhere to sleep, maybe grabbing McDonald's on the way back. I say that as a 28 year old myself. It definitely wasn't right for a romantic, relaxing couples' stay or for anyone used to luxury hotels. The room was beautiful, with a hot tub and great air conditioning, and the hotel has potential if the basic amenities are improved.
