Thireas Hotel

The way the hotel handled the damage was more upsetting than the damage itself. The receptionist seemed uninterested and told us to email the manager. We did so several times and never got a reply, apology, acknowledgment, or attempt to resolve it. We spent part of our holiday waiting for an answer that never came. Accidents happen, but the complete indifference was hard to understand. We left feeling that once they had our money, they didn’t care. When we arrived, the employee handling our luggage dragged our new Samsonite hard-shell suitcase down the steep stone steps, banging and scraping it repeatedly instead of carrying it carefully. By the time we reached the room, it was cracked and unusable, and we still had weeks of travel ahead of us. For a hotel in a destination so dependent on tourism, the lack of professionalism and accountability shocked us. Guests trust hotels to take care of their belongings; when something goes wrong, the least they can do is respond and try to fix it. There are many wonderful places to stay in Santorini, but based on what happened, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

We loved being here and only wished we could have stayed longer. The service was amazing, and the breakfast was delicious and served early. Vanessa at the front desk is an absolute sweetheart. We also loved the location and would definitely choose this place again if we come back.

The outstanding crew made our stay at Villa 1809 feel special. Angela, Elena, Kostas, Giannis and the rest of the team, thank you! The villa had beautiful design and felt impeccably balanced between style and hospitality. The hotel and Villa have elegant, relaxing Cycladic style, with the best view of the caldera.

Helen and Veronica were amazing, and every staff member made sure we had a lovely stay. I felt right at home. The rooms were clean and the pool was right there. Since we were leaving early, they left us breakfast the night before. Thank you, everyone. I highly recommend staying here.
