The roof room (R1) was small, with a double bed, but the AC cooled it quickly. We only needed to run it once before bed during our five nights. The private terrace gets sun all day, with loungers and a table, and stays sheltered even when the sea breeze is strong. There are some narrow, fairly steep steps to reach it, though they weren't much trouble. From up there we could see Sifnos, Paros and Naxos. We booked directly with the hotel. When the hot water boiler broke one evening, the hosts had it replaced by 10 the next morning, which was fantastic. We needed little else from them besides some local travel advice. The setting was just what we wanted: a straightforward room in the historic Castro on the Chora cliff edge, overlooking the ocean and the Church of Panagia. It's a few minutes from the bus stop, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and small grocers nearby. Even when the Chora was busy, we didn't hear noise at night. Gary’s review is pretty spot on.
