The fridge kept running 24/7 even when the key wasn’t in the wall slot 👍. The apartment was a nice, big four-bed unit, though the kitchen had sparse equipment. Some rooms get road noise from the main road, but it never bothered us. I’d stay there again.

We only stayed one night, but that was enough to see how low quality the hotel was. The room was tiny and the TV screen ridiculously small, maybe 15 inches. The toilet was cramped too, and without a shower curtain everything got soaked and messy whenever you showered. It was noisy because the hotel is so close to the road. Then someone started watering the plants at six in the morning! For the price, there are much better hotels in the area.

We’ve stayed here twice now, both times great. It’s a quiet little hotel with rooms that are big enough and cleaned almost daily. There’s a rooftop pool bar, and some rooms have a sea view. The prices are ideal for families on a low budget. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, and the supermarket and bus stop are both about five minutes away, behind the hotel. A good base for excursions, though there’s no restaurant. Manolo, the owner, was very helpful with luggage and everything else.

The only real difficulty for me was the stairs. There’s no lift in the three-storey building, and climbing them was hard at first, though it turned out to be the challenge I needed. Each time I went up and down, I felt a little stronger. I’ll definitely return. Labyrinthos hotel in little Georgioupolis in Crete is the kind of small hotel everyone dreams about, with wonderful owners and great service. It’s a lovely place to feel at home while abroad. The rooftop pool is an oasis for sunbathing in the morning and afternoon. Breakfast is served up there, and you can get lunch, coffee, tea and drinks too. Once a week they have a barbecue evening with delicious Greek food. It’s all a pleasure. I brought ear plugs to block out local traffic, as I always do on holiday.
