Mare Monte Beach Hotel

The location by the beach is great, and the beach is always clean. Room cleaning was very good, as were the restaurant waiters, who were the friendliest and most responsive I’ve ever seen. The food is very good quality, the WiFi is free everywhere and works quite well, and they hire many older staff who are good at their jobs and treat older people with respect. Some things held it back from being perfect. The fizzy drinks were absolutely disgusting except for the orange one, though juices from concentrate were okay. I’d love management to try the cola or lemonade. Drinks aren’t available at all after midnight, and there should at least be water. Waiters do their best with what they have, but the standard drinks are too strong for me, though they’ll adjust the ingredients if asked. The all-inclusive drinks list is very small, which was a little disappointing after Mexico. The entertainment is in French only, as far as I heard. If you don’t speak French and want to join in, good luck. We weren’t invited to anything despite speaking four different languages. There was no kettle in the room either, the first hotel in years where I couldn’t make tea there. Most importantly, the Greek government has cut off the hotel’s access from the main road. Coming from the airport, you have to leave the main road about one kilometer early and go along. From the other direction, you need to turn off a few kilometres earlier and drive through giorgiopolis, or you can’t turn left for miles. I need to get back to the airport tomorrow and am wondering how to manage it.
