The entrance to Pleaiades Urban Stay is small and sits next to the Vodafone shop on Dikeosinis Street, one of the main shopping streets. Berschka and Zara are along the same street, which is quite a fashion area. We went up two levels, entered the codes, and found a surprisingly modern room. It had a mini fridge, microwave, electric stove for light cooking, and a Smart TV that connected to online shows and Netflix or Amazon. The water pressure was good, hot water was always available, and we could see the streets below. At $100SGD right in central Heraklion, it felt well worth it.

The location is excellent, with lots of bars and places to eat nearby, but it’s quiet at night. There’s a nearby bus stop for the airport bus, and you can also catch buses to the beach or Knossos Palace. The building has a lift and keyless entry, which made things easy. There’s a separate-business cafe on the floor below, and we heard some minor construction noise from next door in the mornings. The room was modern and freshly renovated, with good air conditioning that cooled it quickly. The shower had strong water pressure and nice lighting and ambience, and the beds were very comfortable, two singles joined together. My minor gripes were all the light switches, about 10 or 12 in a fairly small room with no master switch. Each night we had to figure out how to turn them all off. The emergency exit light above the door was incredibly bright and disturbed our sleep. There were no bedside tables, but the chairs worked perfectly well for that.

The room worked really well for our three days at the end of October 2023. We were right in the centre of Heraklion, and the studio had a small kitchen corner with a fridge, coffee machine, kettle and everything needed to put together breakfast. Since that little area is beside the entrance and next to the bed, it isn't suited to cooking a proper meal. Still, it's a great room at a fair price for a short stay. The staff were great, the room was cleaned well, and they replied quickly.

No reception desk, so we handled everything by email, and replies came quickly. We also booked a transfer through them for a very reasonable price. The room was clean, the shower had good pressure, and the service was excellent. Great location, too.

Check-in instructions arrived promptly, and the remote service was excellent. The place was clean and fully equipped, right on the main shopping street and close to the central square. Very nice spot.
