Akalli Luxury Studios

It was an okay place for a decent price. The apartment was clean and modern, but cramped for four people. The air conditioner swung between much too cold and much too hot when adjusted. There weren’t any reserved parking spots, so we used the street, and the pool didn’t look appealing. The location also felt far from everything.

We stayed in the Sand Family room at Akalli and really enjoyed it. The neighborhood is peaceful, there’s a private parking spot, and the pool was so quiet that we had it to ourselves for a swim in the morning. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Rhodos old town, and the sandy beaches are 20 to 40 minutes away. The studio looked new, tidy and clean, with very comfortable beds. The hosts were quick to reply whenever we needed something and did their best to help.

The photos make everything look much bigger than it is, and they charge €4 for a roll of toilet paper. The owner accused us of hitting other guests’ cars and said there was security footage. We asked several times to see it, but each time there was an excuse for why they couldn’t show us. The pool water also had a striking chemical colour.

We booked the Sand room for five of us. The pool was a real bonus. It was rarely in use by other residents, and even when it was, things stayed quiet and pleasant. The shower was great, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver. Getting to the beach takes a 20-30 minute walk, but it’s a decent workout. I’d book again.
