We had a great stay with my family at Palmasol. It’s not the biggest or fanciest place around, but it was peaceful and pleasant, especially if you like a bit of privacy. The apartments, restaurant, and grocery store are all run by a local family, which made the place feel even more impressive. Everything was clean, the food was good, and the service was very nice. I’m happy with our stay, and I’m not sure why some reviews were negative.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but I’ve eaten many times at the restaurant across the road, which the same family owns and runs. The hosts are wonderful, the setting is lovely, and the service makes you feel welcome. I’m looking forward to going back soon. I’d definitely recommend visiting. YAMAS!

I checked out 12 hours before my flight and had to wait at reception for a while. It was over 35° outside and there was no air conditioning there. The room-cleaning lady also said she wouldn’t clean while we were inside. She wanted everyone out and the A/C running. I wonder how she would have cleaned if we hadn’t paid extra for A/C in our booking. The owners were very rude. They gave instructions but wouldn’t listen, and seemed unable to accept that guests were there to enjoy themselves. Once, while we were sitting by the pool having tea, the owner watched us, came over shouting, and threatened to call the police just because we were there. The beds were extremely hard, the kitchens were useless, and the bathrooms were terrible. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The same family runs all three places. There’s a local kiosk and a restaurant, though the prices are geared to hotel guests. It’s an easy, quiet place to stay, maybe a little too quiet. Swimming isn’t allowed after 18:00.

I spent five weeks at Palmasol and had no bad experiences with the hotel or the people. The hosts do their best to make your holiday a good one, and guests return twice a year. It’s a family-run hotel with a beautiful garden, close to the beach and a short way from the bus stop for Rhodes town. There’s also a good tavern, Apollo, run by the same family. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, with clean beds and linen, and matched the travel company’s description. The pool, sunbeds, and surrounding area were cleaned every morning. I’ve seen negative reviews, but I can’t understand them.
