The hosts were so welcoming. We had to leave very early, and they even packed our complimentary breakfast the evening before so we could take it with us. From the balcony there’s a side view of the beautiful caldera. The room was clean and very nice, though the bathroom could use more space. The location worked well for us: it’s about a 15-minute walk and climb to either the Fira bus stand or the Imerovigli caldera viewpoint. Right across the street there’s a very good restaurant and a general store.

We had a great time here. The location is fantastic, and the pool is lovely with a great sunny spot. Our host was brilliant and went out of his way to accommodate us.

The loud traffic kept us awake. The hostel sits where three roads meet, and you can hear vehicles all night. We also had no hot water in the evening. When I contacted the host, she said reception closed at 8pm, so we had to wait until the next day. I found that unacceptable, since no effort was made to provide this basic service. The toilet was broken, and the bathroom was tiny and inconvenient. The reception lady had an extremely bad attitude and couldn’t speak English, so trying to communicate with her only upset us. They also don’t provide breakfast for a single-bed room, though there was a notice in the room giving breakfast hours. It felt like that information wasn’t meant for us because we couldn’t afford a double room in their hostel.

The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and I had an amazing stay at Stella. It’s a little walk from the town center, which means it’s quiet at night. I’d definitely stay here again.
