Divelia East

We booked three nights as a couple, but a war broke out in our country just days before we were due to arrive. All flights were canceled, so we couldn’t travel. We contacted the property well ahead of time, explained that the circumstances were beyond our control, and asked for a refund. Despite several attempts to discuss and clarify the situation, they kept refusing. We were disappointed by the lack of empathy and flexibility given how serious the situation was. We lost a significant amount of money on a stay we couldn’t use. I’d suggest others keep this experience in mind before booking.

The room was fantastic, very clean, and came with a hot tub and brilliant view. There are some great restaurants nearby, too. Angeliki was so helpful before we arrived, during our stay, and even after we left.

Everyone we met was welcoming and so nice, and I couldn’t have enjoyed the stay more. We spent four honeymoon nights in Divelia East. The room was amazing, comfortable, very clean, and beautifully decorated. Highly recommended.

We paid £1300 for four days and expected a lot more. Divelia East has lovely rooms, but it’s a set of rooms, NOT a hotel, and faces away from the Caldera. There’s no reception. Diana checks you in and gives you her number if you need help. She can arrange taxis, but ours cost about 10 euros more than booking directly. We paid 45 euros for a 15-minute airport ride because we didn’t know; look on Google for cheaper companies. Breakfast is brought to the door, but you have to choose the time the day before, with no flexibility if you wake up early or want to sleep in. There’s no choice of food, either: a little fruit, eggs that are usually cold or warm, bread, pastries, and coffee, but no tea. The eggs were cold for us. Rooms aren’t cleaned daily, including floors and bins, though they do change towels and make the bed. This may sound harsh, but at that price we expected much more. If we came back, we’d look for a hotel with a Caldera view, or make sure not to spend so much. People come to Santorini for a view to match the room. Don’t make the mistake we did.
