Pearl Inn Hotel

We left a night before our booking ended, even though we had paid for a nonrefundable stay. It was a disaster. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and even walking 10 meters outside felt like risking our lives. There was no pedestrian path or lighting, just a dark, fast road where we had to walk. We were terrified. The room was a dark den with no proper window, and the hotel felt extremely basic. There were no facilities, not even a coffee machine. We got only two small bottles of water on the first day, none after that, and there was no 24-hour concierge, which we understood to be required for a four-star hotel. On our last night we were terribly thirsty and asked reception for water over WhatsApp. They said there was no way to get any until morning, so we drank from the bathroom tap, though the water in Santorini is salty. The hotel arranged a ride quoted at 40 euros each way, or 80 euros for the return trip. When it came time to pay, they asked for 100 euros because we were paying by card instead of cash. Taxis for the same ride usually cost 25-30 euros, also paid by card. A terrible experience, and we won’t return. We saw much better hotels and suites around Imerovigli and Fira, with lovely caldera views and better equipment, sometimes for less.

The pool area and included breakfast were both very nice. It’s a small, newly opened hotel overlooking the Aegean in Imerovigli, with modern, minimalist rooms. You’ll need a car to reach other tourist spots on the island. Most employees didn’t seem to have uniforms yet, but everyone was polite and helpful. A nice place to stay.

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL!! We booked in April for a stay at the end of May and were a little nervous after seeing the bad Google reviews. Our own experience was perfect. Everything was new and in great shape since the hotel had just opened, and the pool overlooking the ocean was gorgeous. We had a wonderful time, especially thanks to Cristina’s service. She suggested lovely local restaurants, cool bars, and nice beaches. Thanks for everything, Cristina! We’d definitely go back.

The location made it easy to get around. The nearest bus stop was about a 4-minute walk, Imerovigli village around 10 minutes on foot, Fira center about 20 minutes on foot, and Oia a 20-minute bus ride away. Restaurants in Fira also delivered to the hotel with no minimum order, which was handy. We were there in winter and got early check-in and late check-out at no extra charge. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, especially Gertha and Mario, and the room was spacious, very clean, with a nice bed. The hotel also gave us free rides to Fira center in its car. Breakfast was great, with omelets, lots of cheeses and breads, orange juice, milk, vegetables, coffee, and tea. We could eat in the restaurant or have breakfast in the room. Since island water isn’t suitable for drinking, the hotel provided plenty of complimentary bottles. It was a great experience for us, and we hope to return. ❤️
