Phaos Santorini Suites

The apartment was roomy enough for our family of four, with a bedroom and loft, and we had lovely water views across the caldera. The staff were helpful, and a cat dropping by our balcony each day was an unexpected bonus. It was a calm, pleasant place to stay, about ten minutes on foot from Imerovigli bus station. Getting to Fira’s main bus station took more effort, though, and a taxi to the airport or port was €40 one way if we didn’t take the bus. We also noticed a plumbing smell in the bathroom, so we kept its door shut.

It was easy to walk to bakeries, coffee shops, markets, and rental places from here. The views are incredible, and the staff are so friendly and sweet. They’ll help arrange things around the island, whether you’re after horseback riding, a dinner cruise, or something else.

The room was missing the coffee machine and coffee or tea that the listing promised, with only sugar provided. Check-in was confusing and disappointing, and even though it was off season, the welcome still felt poor. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

My booking at Phaos Suites Santorini is for February 27, but €100 was taken from my account today, months ahead of the stay. I had no warning, email, or authorization, and nobody from the property contacted me to explain or confirm it. I’ve tried reaching them, but still haven’t received a proper explanation for the early charge. This feels like a scam and is completely unprofessional. I book trips often and have never had a hotel behave this way. Be careful booking here, since they may take money without warning and then be hard to get answers from. I hope management takes this seriously and sorts it out, but right now I can’t recommend the place.
