The sunset over the Caldera was stunning, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was decent, with limited choice, and the hotel restaurant was pretty average. Getting around was the hard part. It’s far from restaurants and the main areas, taxis are a ripoff, and buses come very infrequently. Without a rental car, it’s tough.

The quiet, relaxing atmosphere was just what we wanted for a proper getaway, and the team were kind, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast each morning, looking out over the caldera, felt like pure magic. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the hotel’s panoramic location was stunning. We had a wonderful stay at Xenones Filotera and are already looking forward to coming back next year.

The pool was still noisy at 10pm, with people screaming and jumping into the water, and kids kicking a football against our room wall while our 8-month-old was trying to sleep. I stayed at the hotel during the same time as the family who wrote the negative reviews below, and I feel I should respond because their account is simply untrue, not just exaggerated. The issue was the family, not the hotel. They were loud, rude, and inconsiderate to everyone nearby, disregarded the hotel rules and other guests, and even brought a dog despite the clear no-pets rule. They then complained about things I believe were imaginary and insulted staff who stayed calm and professional. I was shocked and disappointed by their behavior. Their reviews seem misleading and unfair, and clearly intended to hurt the hotel after they were confronted about disturbing other guests. This is a quiet, clean, family-run place that respects peace and privacy. It isn’t a playground, and guests shouldn’t act out and then blame others when called out. For a respectful, relaxing holiday in Santorini, this is a great place. Guests like that shouldn’t be allowed to spoil it for everyone else.

On our second stay at Xenones Filotera, we found it just as incredible as before. The property is beautifully maintained, with some of the best views on the island. Breakfast with that view was exceptional, and the other food and drinks were amazing too. The staff were all kind, attentive, and helpful with requests. Thanks to Julia, Christina, and the rest of the team. We’ll book here again next time we’re back in Santorini. While we were there, a very rude group overlapped with our stay. They constantly verbally abused staff, made ridiculous requests, and then posted horrible, untrue reviews from multiple accounts. Please don’t believe those reviews.
